Road Trip

Yesterday, Leah, Amy, Audrey, Natalie, and me all went to Birmingham to shop at the Scrap Etc. scrapbook store. It was a fun trip. The store wasn't as big as we thought it was going to be, but it had a lot of stuff. We really lucked out too, because everything in the store was 25% off! I bought chipboard letters, a clock face transparency, two sets of stamps, a set of suede flowers, 1 piece of paper, and 1 pen. You guys know I love a good sale, and I was impressed with the store's prices! Today, I stopped by the Pottery to check out their scrapbooking aisle. It was ok...they had a lot of sticker-type items. I did find some clear stamps, tags, some cool brad letters, colored staples (89 cents Telah!), and some rub on letters. They did have good prices for what they had. Here's a pic of all the stuff I bought. My favorite purchase is the set of stamps by k i memories called disco dots.

Since I have been lucky with the RAK contests recently, I thought I would give away an RAK as well. I'm feeling generous since its spring break and all! I bought some extra clear stamps today that I will give away. If you leave a comment, your name will be in for a drawing. I'll pick a name on Sunday night, and declare a winner! Here is a pic of the stamps:

Finally, while I was in the shower yesterday, I made up a song. Well, I put new words to an old song. It goes to the tune of the song that goes, "1,2,3,4,5 everybody's in the car, so come on let's ride..." That is not such a good song. My song goes:

1,2,3,4,5 everybody's in the van,
So come on, Let's ride
to the scrapbook store around the corner
the girls say they want some brads and stamps,
but I really don't wanna
be broke like I was last week,
Scrapbookin' stuff just aint cheap.

I haven't come up with the next part yet...maybe yall can add some words!

My Scrap Space

I have finished my craft room! I may still add a few touches here and there, but I like the room much better now. The walls are a blue-gray color, so the room is much brighter. I have also added more storage! I made a paper storage tower out of a wire cube kit, I put together some desktop storage units, I have my dresser, and I bought those cute baskets on clearance. I know the folding table looks funny, but it was free!! I did see a black table at Target that I really wanted, but it was $200, so I thought free didn't look to bad after all...And yes, Alissa, those are pics of the dog and horse on the wall!

New Craft Room

UPDATE: Ok...the craft room is almost done. The furniture is in place, and I've completed my new paper storage tower that I bought/made. I still need to hang curtains, pictures, and some other things, and I also need to find a new place for all of my stuff. I will post pics when I'm done. Don't worry, Amy will not be painting murals of the wall...

I've been pretty busy this week...busy painting! My craft room used to be red. I always wanted a red room, and I figured that was the only room Josh would ever let me paint red. I spent sooooo much time painting those walls....it must have taken 10 coats of paint to get to the red I wanted. Well, after I had my room set up to actually use for crafts/scrapbooking, I realized that red wasn't the best choice of color. It just made the room too dark. So this week, about 6 months after the red rage, I decided to paint the room a lighter color. I chose a nice blue-gray color called lunar eclipse from here. After two coats of primer and a nice coat of paint, the red is now covered, and the fun part begins...decorating and organizing. I bought some nice baskets with the fabric inside from here, and they were 25% off! Now I need to figure out where to put them. I even got my curtains on sale from here...I hope I like them when they are up on the wall! Anyways...that's all. I wanted to tell someone else, besides Josh. I think I'll try to swing by Hobby Lobby before Church to see about getting some shelves...they're half off this week!!

Crop Night, Pencil Lines, & Sketch This

Last night was the monthly crop at the Church building, and I got almost nothing done!! 2 pages...not 2 layouts...2 pages! That's ok though, I don't think many others were much more productive! Aside from a few mishaps before starting, it was a fun night. I don't think there's anything better than getting together with your Christian friends and having a night full of fun, talking, laughter, and scrappin'! We learn so much about each other when we do this!

Anyways, this page is the page that I used the newest Pencil Lines sketch to complete. This is a pic of mom and me before going on the Boston Duck Tour this summer. It was great! The reason I used "Quack Quack" as the title is because the driver of the tour would have us quack at people as we were going along. I didn't have room for journaling, but I plan to add another page to make this a layout with another pic and journaling.

This is the other page that I completed. I am really trying to get the Boston album completed, because I want to make one for my mom...I'm only on day 2! These pics are some mom and I took of ourselves when we rode on our first water taxi! I got this layout idea from the Sketch This blog, and Leah gave me the idea of journaling around my images. Thanks Leah! I don't usually do that, but I like it!

Tagged by Telah

I guess I should respond to Telah's tag since I haven't posted anything in a coon's age. Sorry it took so long to answer, Telah!

1. Find the nearest book.
OK, so here in the basement, I don't think we have many books. Let me look around...

2. Name the book and the author.
The closest book is one that I recently purchased at Mike's Merchandise called Dooby Dooby Moo, by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin. This is their fourth book, and they're pretty cute.

3. Turn to page 123.
Ha! This is a children's book. There are no where near 123 pages in the book, so I guess I'll just use the last page.

4. Go to the fifth sentence on the page and copy the next three lines onto your blog.
Double Ha! There are not five sentences on the page! I'll copy what's there.

"That night, Farmer Brown listened outside the barn door.
Dooby, Dooby BOING! Fa la, la, la BOING! Whacka, whacka BOING!

5. Tag 3 more people.

I shall tag: Kim, Heather, and Lynn. Go now and post in peace.
