I completed the third Scrapjacked challenge today! This week's original layout is by Amber Skolnick. It was cool to be able to use my paints for something other than stamping. Josh's mom took this pic of us at our friends', Jason and Mary, wedding. We were both all dressed up and beautified because we were in the wedding party, so I thought it would be a good photo opportunity. Take a good look at the hair, because that is the last time anyone will ever see it like that! It looked pretty, but it was pretty painful! I must have had a million bobby pins in my hair! Doesn't Josh look so handsome?!

Pencil Lines, Sketch #20
This is a layout that I did using sketch #20 on the Pencil Lines website. These were some of the cutest pics of Sochs! My friend, Mary, took a bunch of pics of him last year for me, and when I saw this layout, I knew exactly which pics I should use! Isn't my baby boy so cute?! I'm not exactly sure what he is doing, but he sure looks good to me! Of course, Cocoa had to get in on the pics too, although these are not the most flattering pics of her! Wow...two posts this weekend! I feel industrious!

First Circle Journal Topic is Done!!
I am feeling pretty productive today! I finished my layout for the circle journal I was assigned this month! The topic was poetry, and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I don't read a lot of poetry, so I did a search on the net to find one. And yes, it is a poem that is sort of about dogs. I know some of you who know me may be tired of my dog and horse pictures, but oh well! I don't have any kids to photograph, and my husband ducks when he sees a camera. However, the dog and horse are very photogenic, and they can't tell me no! So, here is the layout. I am going to have to learn to plan my layouts ahead of time, instead of letting them evolve as I go. I finished one of the pages before I decided I wanted it a different way, and it wasn't easy to change it! Some lines are crooked, but I like it. I also decided to experiment with some colors that I normally don't use a lot of, pink and orange. They look pretty good together, and I have plenty of these colors in the paper packs that I buy. They're still not my favorite, but I like the way the layout turned out.

Scrapjacked Layout
Ok, so I decided to see what all the hype was about with the Scrapjacked website. I used my new bazooka tape gun (aka Scotch ATG 700) to do this Elsie Flannigan page:
This is the layout that I did:
It's not the greatest pic, but that's what I can do tonight!

GIMP
Ok...so I've been told that even if I don't have much to say, I should post something on my blog. So I thought I would write about my GIMP photo software. It is a pretty cool photo-editing software, and it is free! I'm still learning about it, but tutorials you can find on the web really help. Here are some more examples of what I have done with the software. The picture up top is my dog, Cocoa, the one in the middle is one of my horse and me, and the on bottom is one of my husband and me that I edited for a circle journal layout on my favorite colors.
Also...a cricut update. I LOVE it!! I really do prefer it over my Sizzix stuff. You type in what you want cut out, and it is finished in like 10 seconds! I already bought one cartridge, and I got some more birthday money that I plan to spend on another. I would definitely recommend one of these wonderful machines!!
