MemphisZoo

Ok...I know I said I wasn't going to be posting while I'm in Memphis, but I should have known that I would get bored sometime.
I'm doing ok here. I've got a nice roommate named Carroll Jo, so that makes it nice. I'm not all lonely and stuff, but I still miss being home. It is hard to know that I will be away for so long. I know I'll come home on weekends, but then I know that I will have to leave again. Josh came to visit this weekend, and it was hard to see him go. :o( Last week went by fast because I was pretty busy, so hopefully this week will go by the same way. I had two papers to write last week, and I have heard that this week we will have a writing/research assignment everyday, so I'm sure I'll have plenty to keep myself occupied with.
When Josh was up here this weekend, we decided to go to the Memphis Zoo. It was a pretty big zoo, and it was nice. I love going to the zoo, and seeing all of the different animals. Anywho... it was a fun trip.

This is a pic of me and Josh:

And here's a pic of what almost every animal was doing yesterday between 1 and 4...sleeping...

Have a good week!

A Return to Blogging...

I hope everyone will be thrilled to visit my blog and see that I have added a new entry. I think I even beat Heather to a new post! I've just been busy with school and riding in the nice weather. The first pics I wanted to share are of Josh and myself. We went out on a date Thursday to eat at Rosie's and then go see Spiderman 3. (I wasn't impressed...it was just plain weird...) Well, they had a photo-booth at the Imax and I forced Josh to take these pics with me. I love the third one...

I have actually gotten some scrapbooking done recently! I only finished one layout at the last craft night. This is it:

This is a card I did for a birthday. I completed it for a challenge, and I like it. I don't usually do cards, but this was for a special occasion!

I like this layout because I love this pic of Sochs.

This is another layout I did for a challenge. Each item that you put on the page has a point value, and you could only use 21 points. That was kind of hard, since I put 9 pics in the layout and they were 1 point a piece. I had to get creative with what I used my other points on to make it look nice. I even used some of my horse-themed paper and stickers that I bought from the local scrapbook store.

Here's two more of Josh and I:

And then, here's one of my Granny and me. It's simple, but I like it.

Ok...I think that's all that I've done. Hope yall like 'em!

I can't buy anymore stuff...

I haven't posted in a while. My mom has been up in town visiting me, and it has been an eventful week! Monday morning, she fell down my steps, and said she was fine. When we got to school, her ankle was swollen, and we put ice on it. It was really swollen Monday night, so Tuesday morning I took her to the Doc-in-a-Box down the street. They said it's not broken, but she had to keep it wrapped and use crutches. She took one step on the crutches and handed them back to the doctor! The doctor told her to keep her foot elevated and to stay off of it. So, what did we do? We went for pedicures! Then, I needed to pick up some stuff at Wal-mart, so she got to use one of those electric wheelchairs. She only ran into 1 display! (I'm so proud!) Then, Tuesday, we went shopping all day, followed by an all day shopping day Wednesday. Today, she went to work with me, and when I checked my phone after work, there were three voicemails...A water pipe busted in Mom's house (yes...in South Carolina!!. Thank goodness her friend went over to check on the cat! There was about 2 inches of water sitting in the house, so we got to deal with insurance agents and finding someone to come clean up the water. That is all still a mess! Tomorrow, we have an egg hunt at school, and then we are going to Sci-Quest for a field trip. My brother and his family are planning on coming over, and then on Saturday night or Sunday my in-laws might come up. I think I need a nap.

I did find a good deal yesterday...I hope. I went to Tuesday Morning, and I found a Memories to Go scrapbook tote for $30. It has three pieces, and Mom paid for 1/2 for my birthday, so it was really only $15 out of my pocket!

Ok, so I think I am going to have to ban myself from buying anymore stuff...when I add up the $ I spent on clothes, Cricut cartridges, pedicures, haircuts, and more, I think I may be in a little trouble come credit card bill time...

On a happier note, here are some pics!

My beautiful niece and nephew! A quick update. I don't know if you guys remember when my niece was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 3. This is her! She is doing much better! She goes to St. Judes for a check up Tuesday, so pray that everything will still be clear for her!

My new tote.

A lovely pic of my mum.

Congratulations Leah!

Road Trip

Yesterday, Leah, Amy, Audrey, Natalie, and me all went to Birmingham to shop at the Scrap Etc. scrapbook store. It was a fun trip. The store wasn't as big as we thought it was going to be, but it had a lot of stuff. We really lucked out too, because everything in the store was 25% off! I bought chipboard letters, a clock face transparency, two sets of stamps, a set of suede flowers, 1 piece of paper, and 1 pen. You guys know I love a good sale, and I was impressed with the store's prices! Today, I stopped by the Pottery to check out their scrapbooking aisle. It was ok...they had a lot of sticker-type items. I did find some clear stamps, tags, some cool brad letters, colored staples (89 cents Telah!), and some rub on letters. They did have good prices for what they had. Here's a pic of all the stuff I bought. My favorite purchase is the set of stamps by k i memories called disco dots.

Since I have been lucky with the RAK contests recently, I thought I would give away an RAK as well. I'm feeling generous since its spring break and all! I bought some extra clear stamps today that I will give away. If you leave a comment, your name will be in for a drawing. I'll pick a name on Sunday night, and declare a winner! Here is a pic of the stamps:

Finally, while I was in the shower yesterday, I made up a song. Well, I put new words to an old song. It goes to the tune of the song that goes, "1,2,3,4,5 everybody's in the car, so come on let's ride..." That is not such a good song. My song goes:

1,2,3,4,5 everybody's in the van,
So come on, Let's ride
to the scrapbook store around the corner
the girls say they want some brads and stamps,
but I really don't wanna
be broke like I was last week,
Scrapbookin' stuff just aint cheap.

I haven't come up with the next part yet...maybe yall can add some words!

My Scrap Space

I have finished my craft room! I may still add a few touches here and there, but I like the room much better now. The walls are a blue-gray color, so the room is much brighter. I have also added more storage! I made a paper storage tower out of a wire cube kit, I put together some desktop storage units, I have my dresser, and I bought those cute baskets on clearance. I know the folding table looks funny, but it was free!! I did see a black table at Target that I really wanted, but it was $200, so I thought free didn't look to bad after all...And yes, Alissa, those are pics of the dog and horse on the wall!
