My Brother

Please pray for my brother. We were told this past weekend that he will be in Iraq by the end of the month. He will be gone for a year, with no visits home. His third child will be born while he is away. Please pray to keep him safe! It is so scary to know that he is going to such a dangerous place, and I just want him to come home safe and healthy.

God Bless!

Sooooooooooo Bored!

I am soooooooooo bored!!

Seems like Josh and I both have had whichever plague Alissa and Brody have had. Friday, I had a cough all day, but nothing that alarmed me. Then, by Friday night I started getting light-headed. We also had to go to Jasper to pick up my mom, who came to visit for the weekend. She rode with some friends to Jasper, and we picked her up from there. I was hoping that she would be able to help me sew... She ended up taking care of a sick 25 year old kid and a son-in-law. By Saturday morning I had a 101 temp, which got up to 103 at one point. To top it off, Josh made the mistake of sleeping beside me in bed on Saturday, and by Sunday afternoon, the disease had taken him down too. I hope none of yall get whatever bug this is. I'm sure I got it from one of the kids at school. There has been so much going around. I couldn't even get out of bed without feeling like I was gonna fall over and pass out. Today, I am feeling some better. I can actually get myself a drink without feeling light-headed and dizzy!

So anyways, after sitting in a house for 4 days doing nothing but sleeping and watching tv, you get a little bored. The dog is really going nuts. She just started running laps in the house for no known cause this morning. I was so bored, I even decided to update my blog! How bout those bananas!?

Rambling on...

It has been a while since I have posted. It has been such a busy couple of months. Not much is happening around here though. I'm getting over a cold that turned into bronchitis. I've been feeling icky for about 3 1/2 weeks now. Hopefully I'll feel better before I have to go back to work on Monday!

Of course, Christmas was busy. My parents flew up from Charleston, and we had Christmas at our house with BOTH sides of the family. Talk about stress...It did go well though. Everyone helped bring something, which was a major help due to me not feeling well.

I've gotten some cool stuff for the horses over the holiday season! I got Cheyenne a child-sized saddle that fits her back. She was not liking the saddles when she first arrived, but she is doing so well! I actually saddled her up Monday, and it didn't seem to bother her. Sometimes they will kick, buck, etc. the first time being saddled, but she just stood there and then we went for a walk (not riding!) with no problems. This is such a major milestone for my baby girl!

I do have a prayer request. My brother is going to be deployed to Iraq soon. We're not sure exactly when, but I know it will be sometime soon. He will be over there for a year, and he will miss the birth of his son. I'm so proud of him, and I know he will appreciate any prayers on his behalf. I'm sure my sister-in-law will be needing prayers too. She'll be home with their two kids, plus the one on the way.

Friday should be a fun day. My friend, Jamie, and I are going to Bedford tack in TN, and it is craft night at church. Hopefully I'll squeeze in a ride as well. It looks like it might warm up a little bit that day. Anyhow, I'll stop rambling. Happy New Year!

Cheyenne and Layouts

I have been asked if new pics of Cheyenne had been posted on my blog, so here are some new ones. She is doing really well. As you can see, she's filled out nicely. She's really blown me away with how fast she learned to lead. I can take her across the street now to go on walks without her getting scared. I'm working on getting her to tie, and I'm working on getting her more comfortable with having her feet handled.

Here are some layouts that I have done the past couple of times I went to craft night at church... yes, they are of the horses!

Good Find

I haven't purchased much scrapbooking stuff lately, but when I was at target today, I saw these:

They are Autumn Leaves, just smaller packets. Only $1.99 each. They weren't on the scrapbooking aisle, I just happened upon them at the end of the aisle before the scrapbooking aisle. They had some others too...a baby one for all of you moms and pregos...No Alissa...I am not pregnant!!

Out with the old...

In with the new...

For those of you who haven't heard, Josh was in a wreck last Saturday. Thankfully, Josh did not get hurt. However, our poor little Isuzu pickup didn't stand a chance. Yes...he wrecked the only vehicle we own with an air conditioner. The cost of preparing poor Izzy the Isuzu was going to be almost $5,000, especially when you count the cost of repairing the oil leak and the soon-needed new tires. Needless to say, the truck just wasn't worth any where near that much money.

So, we decided we better go car shopping. We went looking that same day. We only had liability on the truck, so there is no chance we're getting any money. Even if we did, it would be totaled out. So we went to the sell-it-yourself car lot on the South Parkway, and we found a very nice deal!! There is no way I can really be upset with Josh, when I look out my window and see my 2007 Ford F-150!!! We really, really got a good deal on this one, and we both decided we really couldn't pass it up.
