Old Hobby Re-visited!

Since I had to stay home sick today, I decided to finish up an art project I started a few weeks back. When I was in high school, I enjoyed art/drawing, but I haven't done that much since then. I just got the itch a few weeks ago, but I hadn't had time to work on it. I figured I might as well do something while I was sitting in bed. Not a bad excuse to update the blog either. :o)

I drew this picture from a headshot I took of Cheyenne last summer. I hope Sochs and Cocoa don't get jealous! lol It's not the best...didn't really know what to do with the background, but I figure it ain't too bad, considering it's been a few years since I've done this kind of thing. Have a good day!

Puppies

I always knew the day would come, but it still makes me a little sad. We sold 2 more of our puppies last night. We only have 6 left that haven't been claimed. Of course, they won't be leaving us for a few weeks, but it is still sad. One of the ones that sold last night was one of my favorites, so that was kind of hard. I guess it makes it easier when you see how excited these people are to have them.

One unrelated puppy thing that some of you may or may not care about...I trotted Cheyenne last night. I guess it was my first real official ride/training session. It was so exciting and fun. She even got up into a few steps of canter and bucked for the first time. I think she's going to be a really good horse if I can ever figure out what I'm doing with her!

Tired

I am worn out!

Last week, I started working in my classroom, so I've been busy painting and setting up. I can't believe it is time for school to start! Where has my summer gone?!

I guess part of it has gone to the dogs...ha ha! The puppies are getting bigger, and they poop and pee a lot. Cocoa and I are worn out from cleaning up after them, but they are so sweet! When you walk in the room, they all crowd around you with tails wagging...it's gonna be hard to let them go, especially a certain few. Check out their blog for some new pics: http://cocoaslabpups.blogspot.com/

Before I go to bed, I must say CONGRATULATIONS!! The co-ed softball team at church won first place in the tournament last night!! They had to play 3 games back to back, and they won them all! Of course, I must brag because my hubby is on the team!

Puppy Blog

Not much going on around here....just busy cleaning up after puppies and trying to get ready for school to start. I updated the puppy blog with new pictures. The puppies are getting so big! Their eyes are open and they are playing, growling, barking, and being just plain cute! Check them out!

If anyone knows anybody who might be interested in purchasing a lab puppy, please let them know about us! The link below will take you to a website, which has information about the parents, as well as pictures of the puppies. Of course, I will be updating the blog with new pictures as the puppies grow and change!

Annoying, but flattering

I just want to say that I am beginning to hate local photo processing!!! Sam's changed their website, so now it is a pain to edit photos and order them. So, since Sam's was getting on my nerves, I decided to try the local Wal-mart. All I wanted to do was order some really cute pics I took of my nephews this weekend. I even edited them on that Picnik site Leah told us all about. I got a phone call a few minutes after I placed my order asking for a copyright for my photos. She didn't seem to believe that I took them myself. So what I am I supposed to do if I want photos quickly? I guess I will have to start ordering online, but I am really impatient, and hate to wait. I'm gonna take my camera and my card in, so hopefully they will give me my pictures I ordered. If not, I guess I will find out how to copyright my pictures or write a letter for myself saying that I can buy my own photos. Is that not annoying??? Where do professionals go to get their pics?!!

It is 2:40 AM

Yes...it is 2:40 AM and I am awake.

Why am I awake??!

Cocoa needed to go outside, and the doggie door was closed. She woke Josh up to take her out.

Then...she decided to crawl under the shed and not come out.

Why? I don't know...she's never gone under there before. I guess having 9 kids makes ya a little crazy.

My husband decided to wake me up to deal with the situation. FUN.

I feel bad...I had to take a puppy out to squeal to make her come out.

Now I have mud footprint tracks through my kitchen and down my stairs. FUN.

I think I'll try to go back to bed now...

Puppies!

They're here!!!

Cocoa lost her mucus plug last night around 7:10. Of course, she wasn't in her whelping box, she was in the upstairs bedroom! The first pup came around 8:30:

1. 8:27 black male

2. 9:20 black male

3. 9:30 black female

4. 9:59 black male

5. 10:03 chocolate male

6. 10:28 chocolate female

7. 11:02 black male

We thought she might be done, but then:

8. 11:32 chocolate female

9. 11:55 chocolate female

Josh was certain she would have only four, maybe 5, pups. She showed him! She's being a really good mamma! I'll post pics when I wake up a little more....didn't get to bed until after 1 am. Have a great day!

Revenge of the Lovebird

I know you guys are probably wondering why two lovebird posts in 2 days...it really is just too funny! I got pictures this time, although Cocoa was a little more brave and fought back some. She still looks at me like, "Mom...what is that thing?!"

Have you ever seen a lovebird....

Attack a 60 pound lab?

I let Elvis, my lovebird from school, fly around the house today. Cocoa, the dog, stays in, so I was having to be careful. Now, you would think the lovebird would be afraid of the dog and stay away from her....but you would be wrong. I looked out in the hallway to see Elvis biting Cocoa anywhere he could get her- the tail, her toes, her nose, anywhere! Needless to say, Elvis had to go back to his room. I didn't get any pictures because I wanted to put Elvis away before Cocoa decided to retaliate. Poor Cocoa...

Craft Show News

We are out of the red!!

Alissa and I sold 16 bags yesterday and today at the Athens Bible School craft show! We have also sold 4 bags to a children's boutique in Anniston. Kristie did really well with her dresses too. I think we can really get somewhere with these bags. We're already planning another craft show and another trip to Sirs....can't wait to see what we find! I'll try to post pics of some of the bags later, but I have taken any yet.

My baby girl plus more!

I'm so excited about my baby girl! Cheyenne is growing so much! When I first got her, I bought a child's saddle for her, so it would fit her. Today, I put Sochs' saddle on her for the first time and it fit. As a matter of fact, she is just about as tall as Sochs now. I can't believe how much she has grown since I got her. Look at how beautiful she is!

Isn't she cute?! I just can't believe how well the saddle fits her!

Here's some pics of my friend Alissa and her son, Brody, with Sochs and Cheyenne. I have really got to get a better camera. I think that is something I'm going to try to really look at this week. I'm just going to have to make up my mind, so I can take better pics of the horses.

Last, but certainly not least, I had an opportunity to visit with my sister in law and my niece and nephew. Amanda is only about 3 1/2 weeks away from having the baby, and she is really starting to show. The kids were really excited to see me, and I had a blast playing with them and spending time with them. As anyone who reads this blog knows, my brother is still in Iraq. Keep him in your prayers, so he can come home safely to meet his new son in December.

I will say.... I am jealous of all those curls! That's me in the middle of a wonderful smooch!

Tagged....a long time ago

Ok, Kim tagged me a while back, so I guess I should do my duties. :)

The Six Words me me.
Here are the rules:
1) Write your own six word memoir
2) Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you'd like
3) Link to the person that tagged you in your post, and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere
4) Tage at least five more blogs with links
5) Don't forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play! Ok, here goes:

The School Year is Almost Over!!!

Not so sure this is a memoir, but it describes something that will definitely make me a happy camper. Come on summer break!!! Since everyone has probably already been tagged, I'll choose Alissa 5 times because she hasn't updated her blog in a long time either.

What were you doing at 1:30 this morning?

Really, what were you doing?

I was trying to get my truck out of Amy's front lawn! I offered to take her bouncy-whatever baby thing to her house because she couldn't get it in her truck. My truck is a stick shift, so I didn't want to park/start on that really, really steep hill. So, Amy says, "Just turn around in the front yard. It won't hurt anything." I knew the ground was wet, but I thought it was firm enough to let me go a little in the yard to turn around....I was wrong. I got stuck! Amy had to go wake Ian up to come get the truck out the yard, and he came out dressed in shorts and sandals. It is snowing by now, mind you. We finally got it out with some boards and Ian pushing the truck from behind, but they have some nice tire treads going pretty much up to the front of the house...Hey..at least we got to see some snow!

My Brother

Please pray for my brother. We were told this past weekend that he will be in Iraq by the end of the month. He will be gone for a year, with no visits home. His third child will be born while he is away. Please pray to keep him safe! It is so scary to know that he is going to such a dangerous place, and I just want him to come home safe and healthy.

God Bless!

Sooooooooooo Bored!

I am soooooooooo bored!!

Seems like Josh and I both have had whichever plague Alissa and Brody have had. Friday, I had a cough all day, but nothing that alarmed me. Then, by Friday night I started getting light-headed. We also had to go to Jasper to pick up my mom, who came to visit for the weekend. She rode with some friends to Jasper, and we picked her up from there. I was hoping that she would be able to help me sew... She ended up taking care of a sick 25 year old kid and a son-in-law. By Saturday morning I had a 101 temp, which got up to 103 at one point. To top it off, Josh made the mistake of sleeping beside me in bed on Saturday, and by Sunday afternoon, the disease had taken him down too. I hope none of yall get whatever bug this is. I'm sure I got it from one of the kids at school. There has been so much going around. I couldn't even get out of bed without feeling like I was gonna fall over and pass out. Today, I am feeling some better. I can actually get myself a drink without feeling light-headed and dizzy!

So anyways, after sitting in a house for 4 days doing nothing but sleeping and watching tv, you get a little bored. The dog is really going nuts. She just started running laps in the house for no known cause this morning. I was so bored, I even decided to update my blog! How bout those bananas!?
